Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

The role involves working on projects associated with wet infrastructure, i.e. wastewater, stormwater, potable water and recycled water systems, water and wastewater treatment system, and flood management and water resources management studies.

This will involve undertaking report writing, preparation of tender documents, technical specifications and BOQs.

Key responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

1.\tTechnical delivery

  • \tManage all facets of Pre-contract quantity surveying including cost planning & cost estimates, quantity take-off, preparation of bills of quantities based on CESMM, POM(I) or other bespoke format as per project specifications & drawings, Engineer’s estimate and life cycle cost where required.
  • \tPrepare tender documents, respond to bidders’ tender queries and post tender correspondence on contractual and commercial matters, Commercial Evaluation of tenders and report submission.
  • \tPrepare contract documents upon award of tender.
  • \tGeneral post contract administration, Provide guidance and review of Advance payments, interim payments, Statement at Completion, Release of Retention & Final Statement.
  • \tProvide guidance and review of Valuation of variations, agreement of new rates, Issuing the Taking Over Certificates and Defects Liability Certificates.
  • \tAdvise on commercial matters & produce necessary documents/reports
  • \tSupport site teams to ensure that contractual requirements are complied with.
  • \tSupport site teams on contractual matters based on applicable Conditions of Contract.
  • \tReview, evaluate & negotiate cost claims.
  • \tEstablish prolongation cost based on approved Extension of Time claims.
  • \tReview of guaranties, bonds and insurances.
  • \tProduce financial reports as required.
  • \tCommercial & Contractual correspondence.
  • \tReview of Contractors Programme of works & other reports.
  • \tPrepare, update & maintain historical commercial data/rates etc. including resourcing quotes/prices from market

2.\tCollaboration and working as part of a team

  • \tWork in conjunction with peer engineers to overcome project design challenges
  • \tLiaise with other discipline teams and/or teams working remotely from other regions to facilitate completion of project tasks
  • \tLiaise with sub-consultants and sub-contractors to facilitate completion of project tasks
  • \tEnsure timely delivery of assigned works with self-motivation according to the present day demands and requirements of Clients;

3.\tFollow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner

  • \tComplete all work in line with Stantec’s Core Values and in accordance with the Stantec’s Quality Systems, Project Quality procedures and Health & Safety procedures.

4.\tClient Services and Stakeholders Management

  • \tInternational working experience, e.g. GCC Region (preferred)
  • \tExcellent command in English both written and spoken
  • \tAbility to manage a heavy workload, with close attention to detail
  • \tAbility to make decisions with limited supervision and guidance
  • \tStrong team working capabilities, committed to working with all levels of management on a daily and ongoing basis

Title:

Senior Quantity Surveyor

Qualifications:

  • \tBachelors B.E/B.Tech/B.sc in Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying with +15 years relevant experience or Diploma in Civil Engineering with additional 5 years of Experience
  • \tMRICS or progressing towards MRICS desirable.
  • \tExcellent command of English both written and spoken.
  • \tThe ability to manage a heavy workload, with a close attention to detail.
  • \tExcellent computer skills.
  • \tThe ability to work autonomously, self-review of work on a regular basis while consistently meeting your objectives.
  • \tStrong teamwork capabilities. Commitment to working with all levels of management on a daily and ongoing basis.
  • \tA proactive approach, working effectively in coordinating activities and complex tasks, taking professional responsibility on all matters related to work.
