Job description

The Senior Platform engineer is a member of the DN Private Cloud platform development team consisting of cross-functions from all areas of infrastructure services – Network, Security, Storage, Compute, Virtualization, Operating Systems. The team has architecture freedom to design and improve the platform.

The Senior Platform engineer has key responsibilities in the automation (scripts, workflows) and platform development including design and implementation of automated infrastructure services up to operating systems.

The Senior Platform engineer will work together in a supporting role to further develop the platform and it services together with the operations teams, business units and other stakeholders as the design authority.

In addition, the Platform engineer will work cross-function to support the operations teams with all aspects of the platform including 3rd level support and support projects with architecture consultancy, product integration and design.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Realization of robust, standardized, and automated infrastructure services
  • Independent development and implementation of scripts and tools for automating virtual infrastructure in the private cloud (mostly Ansible, PowerShell)
  • Participate in the evaluation, installation, support and administer relevant tools used to provide infrastructure automation solutions
  • Support and administration of development, test and production systems, and the operation of the automation infrastructure
  • Design, create, validate, and maintain templates, blueprints, playbooks, and modules for configuration management and infrastructure deployment tools
  • 3rd level support for the operations teams
  • Consulting and collaboration with other technical roles
  • Responsible for continual service improvement through automation IT solutions, improving of effectiveness of services and decreasing failures
  • Able to contribute to the definition of IT technology strategy, standards, and roadmaps
  • Understanding principles of storage systems, databases, virtualization, computing, middleware
  • Delivering/supporting root cause analysis within the scope of responsibilities for major issues
  • Understanding of DR and HA concepts
  • Mentoring of the colleagues within different teams

We expect

Technical skills:

  • Knowledge and experience in developing infrastructure automation using PowerShell scripts
  • Ability to create and consult solution designs, engineer and integrate solutions
  • Technical understanding and practical experience in areas of infrastructure technologies from hardware to operating systems
  • Practical operational experience at least with 2nd Level operations with focus on operating systems (Windows, Linux (RHEL/OEL)
  • Able to contribute to the definition of IT technology strategy, standards and roadmaps
  • Experience with Ansible or similar solutions is welcome
  • Experience with operations of infrastructure and related services
  • Ability to share technical expertise
  • Capable of working without direct supervision

Starting salary from 2500 EUR gross/month- the final offer depends on proven experience
