The Opportunity
This position works out of our Chicago, IL location in the Business Technology Services. As the Platform Architect you’ll have the chance to own the full stack lifecycle of the platform(s) under their scope. They are accountable for the evolution of a platform across IT chains and domains that consume the platform services in terms of functional, non-functional, Risk, Security, technical debt, migration, Roadmaps.
What You’ll Work On
- Define a long-term vision for DevSecOps practices complementary to the organization’s current application/build architecture, standards, and technology plans.
- Define, implement, and govern a state-of-the-art Software Factory in partnership with functional management, security architects, test & integration architects and other subject matter experts.
- Directly contribute to feature implementation related to system integration and CI/CD/CT process-improvement efforts.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance to implementation teams while working in a coordinated manner to deliver and deploy the designed architecture
- Influence roadmaps and participate in planning/prioritization activities, coordinate work across multiple development teams.
- Constantly work on understanding pipeline status and analyzing data across programs and develop architectural requirements at central level.
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in Computer Science or similar engineering discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in software development, systems; DevOps/Build & release architecture and design
- Extensive hands-on experience leading initiatives utilizing Infrastructure as Code and configuration management on both bare-metal and virtual environments with technologies such as: Kubernetes, Docker, vSphere, Ansible, Packer or Terraform.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience writing automation scripts using scripting languages: Go, Groovy, shell scripting (Bash, PowerShell), Python or Ruby
- Dev-Sec-Ops-Iac: Able Architect and Design zero touch deployment solutions for end to deployments of Code, Infra, Monitoring: Dynatrace, LogicMonitor, AIOps: MoogSoft, BigPandaLogging: Splunk, Datadog, ELK, Prometheus, CloudWatch
- Strong knowledge in Networking (TCP/IP, WINS, DNS, NFS, NIS, SSH, DHCP)
- In-depth knowledge of technology trends and standards, both from business and technical viewpoints.
- Experience with the full software development lifecycle and delivery using Agile practices for complex software engineering programs.
- Experience installing operating systems, installing software applications and troubleshooting on both Linux and Windows operating systems
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tooling for automated software assurance and QA.
- Experience with project or program management
- Experience handling & troubleshooting various critical production and non-production end to end applications & middleware infrastructure technical issues
- Understands key cross-functional concepts that impact the organization; is aware of business priorities and organizational dynamics.
- Reacts open-mindedly to new perspectives or ideas. Considers different or unusual solutions when appropriate.
- Self-starter, energizing, results oriented and able to multi-task

$102,700.00 – $205,300.00
