Our location in Lake County Illinois currently has an opportunity for a Connected Products Architect to work within Abbott’s Digital Technology Services group.

As a Connected Products Architect, you will play a critical role in defining and delivering Global connected product platforms to meet Abbott’s business needs.

We are looking for a candidate to be a key player in the design and development of next generation IoT design and support cloud based applications and services. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and responsible for contributing to the overall application architecture, as well as detailed design and implementation of platform components. They will have architected complex systems with multiple years of building IoT platforms and applications in a regulated cloud environment. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Work across product teams to architect, build and design next-generation technology platforms
• Collaborate with other Engineers and Architects to influence solid design decisions, processes and tools.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of software engineering, cloud technologies and data engineering, to define target architectures, patterns and processes.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring of engineering teams, working closely with architects and business leaders.
• Drive continuous process and technology improvements
• Design, architect and maintain ThingWorx implementations and be the local ThingWorx technology expert 
• Assist in the implementation of the DevOps mindset and tools for the IoT landscape 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

• Bachelor’s Degree/ Master’s Degree preferred 
• 7+ years of Software Engineering experience. Experience in building/implementing high performance & scalable server-side applications
• Experience developing and architecting PTC ThingWorx solutions in high volume enterprise implementations
• 3+ years of PTC ThingWorx, Java and Cloud Technologies
• 3+ years working in a regulated healthcare environment
• Strong communication skills
• You have high standards for quality and attention to detail
• Self-starter and enthusiastic personality who can work well both independently and as a team member
• Technical leadership skills in driving architecture, helping with technical trade-offs, and driving best practices
• Advanced-level knowledge of cloud, security and privacy, IoT, and containerization.

The base pay for this position is

$102,700.00 – $205,300.00

In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
