The Opportunity

The Sr Financial Analyst works out of our Austin, TX site in the Heart Failure division. Leading an active lifestyle is important to the many people we serve. In Abbott’s Heart Failure division, we’re advancing the treatment of heart and vascular disease through breakthrough medical technologies in HF allowing people to restore their health and get on with their lives. 

As the senior financial analyst on a broader FP&A team, you are an integral part of the financial planning process for Abbott’s Heart Failure Business Unit. You will have the opportunity to “tell the story” for the executive leadership team and help drive results by translating data into actionable insights for leaders. You are detail-oriented, data driven, and possess strong inter-personal skills to support the Americas commercial sales organization.

WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON

  • Assists in monthly financial close activities and quarterly forecasting cycles.
  • Assists in sales forecasting of varying cadence, bi-weekly, monthly.
  • Owns SG&A budgets for the downstream marketing team. Activities include budgeting, reporting, and providing variance analysis.
  • Assists with rebate analysis and monthly revenue reconciliation.
  • Builds financial models to deep dive into complex business problems and possesses a continuous process improvement mindset.
  • Prepares executive ready presentations with concise messaging. Translates data into meaningful visuals / charts appropriate for the audience.
  • Reviews sales objectives, analyzes data, understands sales process, and develops solutions in the areas of territory alignment, sales rep efficiency/productivity, expense management and manpower planning.
  • Works cohesively with cross-functional teams (marketing, sales, accounting, etc.) and adapts to working styles within US, Canada, and Latin America.
  • Performs ad-hoc projects and analysis as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
  • 4+ years’ work experience in FP&A or finance related field (experience supporting a commercial sales organization a plus).
  • Documented record of delivering reporting/business information that adds value to management's decision-making process. 
  • Comprehensive verbal and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work in a fast-paced multinational environment while juggling competing priorities.
  • Ability to think critically and approaches challenging tasks with a solution-oriented mindset.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA or CPA candidate
  • Medical Device experience a plus.
  • Experience with Essbase or similar financial planning application.
  • Experience designing data driven dashboards e.g. PowerBI, Tableau.
  • Fluent in Spanish.
  • Proficiency with SAP and SalesForce

The base pay for this position is

$71,300.00 – $142,700.00
