Hours: Full Time, Day Shift (36) hours/week.

About The Job:

Supports the histology gross room and histology department in accessioning surgical specimens and biopsies, registration of reference lab histology specimens, inventory control, technical and clerical support.

What we are looking for:

Education:

A minimum of a High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Medical assistant diploma is preferred.

Medical terminology or must be willing to obtain within 6 months from hire.

Experience: 

Six months experience in a laboratory setting preferred

Special Skills and Competencies:

Must be able to tolerate seeing surgical/biopsy specimens from a variety of body sites.

Excellent communication skills

Ability to work independently and adapt skills learned to like situations

Problem solving skills

Computer keyboard and word processing skills.
