Job Description
The Solution Architect I – HR / Finance Systems is responsible for designing, describing, and maintaining the solution engineering. It is critical for HR & Finance to work together and have collaboration to advance against the same goals and strategic vision set in the organization. This role leads the team in making key, solution-level decisions and the evaluation of their impact to business objectives and outcomes, focusing on the tradeoffs that impact existing processes. The architect helps develop solutions for business issues, problems, and process change. This role must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management both within and outside of the IT department.
Duties:
Serve as leader of the Architecture of the HR & Finance systems.
- Conducts an analysis of the system architecture and collaborates with stakeholders on how to improve it
- Create & lead the process of integrating systems that comply with current and future state conditions and fulfill the needs of business
- Handle architectural problems in order to achieve more productive and successful results
- Communicate project’s/initiative’s vision and participate in endeavors for future improvements
- Analyze the impact of various business & technical decisions to processes, applications & overall architecture
- Collaborate with business leaders to identify and prioritize technology initiatives
- Define technology roadmaps that align to long term business objectives for the company
- Work closely with a team of Project Managers, developers and Business Analysts
- Provide regular status and risk reporting to IT and business senior leadership
- Define and ensure adherence to project management processes, templates, standards
- Research new technologies continuously and offer suggestions/adjustments to the present architecture
- Assist with preparation and management of capital and expense budgets
- Perform project and non-project related tasks and activities to support the department’s goals and objectives
- Partner & coordinate with other architects to share learnings and work jointly on cross-functional projects
- Occasionally serve as primary project lead on strategic initiatives
- Determine appropriate project structure, work streams and team lead(s)
- Develop and maintain project plans with detailed tasks, activities, deliverables and timelines
- Manage and evaluate project resource requirements
- Continuously assess and re-evaluate project priorities; develop contingency plans
- Facilitate project schedules and meetings
- Document project decisions, action items, issues and risks
- Maintain project document repositories
- Serve as primary liaison with external vendors
- Maintain, manage and report on project financial budgets, actuals and forecasts.
- Prepare project status reports and steering committee presentations
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of 10 years of related work experience, with 3+ years of project leadership experience as a workstream lead, design lead or project manager
- Experience managing complex technology projects
- Experience with all aspect of the system implementation including, but not limited to, gathering requirements, designing the future state solution, testing, change management, and post implementation support
- 10 years in Retail experience
- 10 years in HR & Finance technology experience & in-depth understanding:
- ERP & Financial Accounting software
- Merchandise Financial Planning software
- Invoice Reconciliation software
- Human Capital Management, Workforce management, Payroll software
- Integration with Core Merchandising software
- Reporting/Analytics software
- Experience in PL/SQL, Oracle, Showcase Query, DB2, Python, Machine Learning libraries, digital/ecommerce technologies
- Advanced oral and written communication skills
- Strong facilitation skills
- Team player with excellent collaboration skills
- Strong configuration experience, ability to determine when to use configuration vs. code
- Advanced troubleshooting skills
- High attention to detail
- Self-starter with sense of urgency
- Enjoys fast paced environments
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors in business, engineering, computer science, MIS or other four-year related degree
- Experience in a statistical visualization tool, such as Oracle Visual Analyzer, Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, IBM Cognos, etc.
- Technology experience in
- Additional Core merchandising system applications: Master Data Management, Order Management, Inventory Management & Valuation, Vendor Portal
- Experience in Lawson ERP & Financial Accounting, Workday Enterprise Management Cloud Solution Suites
- Experience with SymphonyAI Retail (GOLD), Oracle Retail or Blue Yonder Solution Suites
