What You’ll Do

Become part of Cisco's fast-growing and exciting Software Security team. We are actively building a next-generation security service crafted to analyze software to find vulnerabilities and threats forensically.

Whom you'll work with

You will be a part of a dynamic and growing team responsible for securing Cisco's global software supply chain. Our diverse software engineers are accountable for creating Cisco's software bill of materials (SBOMs) in response to the US executive order on Cyber Security. We develop internal solutions in Ruby on Rails, Python, and other modern programming languages to ensure highly accurate and traceable SBOMs for Cisco's entire software product portfolio.

As a Software Engineer of the Build Artifact Security, you'll develop technologies that change how clients secure their software and interact with security tools and results. You will anticipate our customer needs and be empowered to act and innovate. Be eager to seek new solutions to problems as we continue to push our mission to ensure highly accurate and traceable SBOMs for Cisco's entire software product portfolio.

  • Analyze Technical and Business Requirements from the engineering teams.
  • Work collaboratively with the team, architects, technical leads, and analysts to define and finalize end-to-end solutions.
  • Lead the architecture practice within the team and drive technical vision, standards, and roadmap.
  • Proactively Identify Improvements to existing technical solutions to reduce tech debt and improve resiliency & scalability.
  • Drive End to End Technical solutions with Platforms like SaaS and IaaS.
  • Ability to mentor and coach other developers on the team.

What you'll need

As a Software Engineer, you will need to have a firm understanding of Software Architecture and development concepts with the ability to tackle challenges by taking the initiative and assuming ownership of development tasks and activities. We are looking for candidates with:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent work experience in a technical field.
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering, in Ruby on Rails.
  • 5+ years of software architecture & design.
  • Understanding of RESTful API design and relational and NoSQL databases
  • Communicates difficult concepts. Guides, influences, and persuades others either internally in other areas or externally with customers.
  • Leads others to solve issues of diverse scope where analysis requires understanding current business trends. Uses sophisticated analytical thought to exercise judgment and identify innovative solutions.
  • Thrives in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment and fosters multi-functional team communications.
  • Experience with infrastructure and systems engineering and scaling services on the cloud
  • Cloud deployment experience (GCP, AWS, Azure, Docker)
  • Full-stack development experience is a plus
