Job Description
What is the opportunity?
The Data Engineer researches, develops and implements new and existing data and visualization technologies to provide technology and business lines with customer experience, performance, productivity and sales insights from self-service and Advisor-assisted Contact Centre interactions (e.g. voice, email, chat, video, text). You will ensure new initiatives meet technology and business lines data and reporting needs, in alignment with Contact Centre Technology strategy and Technology capabilities defined in the future state (e.g. Omni-Channel reporting, Gamification/Visualization).
What will you do?
- Creating software for retrieving, parsing and processing structured and unstructured data
- Defining and building scalable ETL/ELT workflows for reporting and analytics
- Supporting project team to scale, monitor and operate data platforms for very high availability and performance
- Developing scripts and programs for converting various types of data into usable formats
- Execute development and integration activities (planning, execution, testing, deployment and post implementation support) of existing, new data and visualization technologies (e.g. Omni-Channel reporting, Gamification/Visualization)
- Prepare data to be used for analytics, operational reports and data science work
- Provide third-level support for data, visualization technologies, and incident & problem resolution; act as primary technical lead for problem resolution and root-cause determinations in close collaboration with third-party vendors, if appropriate
- Research emerging data and visualization technologies trends/best practices and propose solutions for technology and business partners
- Provide advice to Technology & Operations, Contact Centre Technology and business lines as subject matter expert in enterprise-wide data and visualization technologies in collaboration with Technology & Operations partners (e.g. Enterprise Information Management)
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
- Advanced knowledge of ETL workflows and their design requirements
- Advanced Python knowledge with preferred experience in data analysis and the following libraries: pandas, requests, elasticsearch, pyspark, flask (2 years minimum)
- Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases (2 years minimum)
- Experience with Apache big data tools such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, etc. (2 years minimum)
- Strong skills in Unix shell scripting and working knowledge of Linux systems (2 years minimum)
- Working understanding of DevOps pipelines and technologies such as GitHub, Jenkins, UCD, etc.
- Experience in requirement analysis, design, implementation, and testing of software solutions
- Experience in data visualization technologies (Tableau, Flask, etc.)
- Strong analytic skills related to working with datasets
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
- Experience participating in multiple, complex, cross functional projects
Nice-to-have
- Advanced knowledge of Contact Centre technologies
- Understanding Machine learning, its applications, and experience implementing solutions
- NiFi, Kafka, Docker, and OCP experience
