What is the opportunity?

This unique position calls on your client-focused advice expertise and natural problem-solving skills to maximize each client interaction by helping clients with their everyday banking, credit, and investment needs. As an RBC ambassador, you add value in the moments that matter most to clients and collaborate with other RBC partners to help clients achieve their goals. Whether you’re teaching a client how to use digital banking, on boarding a new client in an office, or referring a complex opportunity to a specialist, your expertise will contribute to creating meaningful and memorable client experiences, as well as drive client satisfaction and loyalty.

What will you do?

  • Proactively engage with clients in all areas of the branch and in the community, uncovering banking needs, providing help and advice, as well as identifying sales and referral opportunities
  • Focus on client education and demonstration, leveraging technology to deliver a memorable client experience, drive sales, and retain business
  • Respond to client-initiated contact, assisting them with a full range of financial transactions
  • Actively listen and engage clients in conversation to further understand their individual needs
  • Proactively take ownership of resolving and preventing client banking problems
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with partners to make the most of business opportunities and referrals

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Mutual Funds accreditation, or willingness to obtain it (i.e., Investment Funds in Canada or the Canadian Securities Course)
  • Goal-oriented individual with a demonstrated passion for putting clients first.
  • Problem-solving and people skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and proactively connect with clients
  • Flexibility, eagerness to learn, strong personal ethics, and a drive to succeed
  • Digital literacy across a broad range of devices (i.e., smartphones, tablets, laptops, etc.)

Nice-to-have

  • Track record in building rapport and maintaining client relationships within the financial or service industry

What is the opportunity?

As an RBC Advisor you will add value to clients when it matters most. Using your client- service mindset and natural problem solving skills you will help clients learn how to use RBC’s best in class digital platforms for their everyday banking needs. You will also help individuals and families achieve their goals by opening accounts, offering simple credit solutions and a group of authorized non registered term investments. And with each memorable client experience you deliver, you will develop new skills to uncover client needs and refer One RBC partners to your clients.

In your newly renovated branch, client interactions will primarily take place on the floor or in informal conversation areas. You may also be directed to make proactive and anchoring calls to book appointments for retention or advice based conversations. There will also be instances where you will complete traditional transactions such as drafts or wires and other services using Service Platform.

In addition to the expertise you have acquired in your current role, we will provide you with the additional training you need to be successful.

  • An RBC Advisor is a highly engaging, client experience focused individual, with advanced discovery and problem resolution skills, who assists clients with simple solutions and navigates home of best fit for more complex needs
  • Hospitality focused & face of RBC for clients, delivering an exceptional first-point-of-contact client experience within RBC Locations
  • Effectively uses Discovery Experiences to deliver more holistic advice
  • With a deep knowledge of self-serve digital capabilities, is an expert at digitally enabling clients
  • Fulfils on Everyday Banking Needs, simple credit, simple savings and investments at first point of contact

Primary Responsibilities:

Deliver an Exceptional Client Experience

  • Delivers an exceptional client experience (NPS) that ensures client needs are met
  • Educates & enables our clients leading with advice first and enabling through digital where possible and encouraging our clients to interact with us in their channel of choice

Acquire and Deepen Client Relationships

  • Delivers business growth including new client acquisition as well as growing and deepening existing client relationships
  • Provides everyday banking, Investments (I.e. authorized GICs) and credit advice
  • Maximizes client interactions through In the Moment Advice, fulfilling on simple needs and referring to HOBF (Home of Best Fit) for more complex needs

  • Demonstrates One RBC Partnering, engaging in deep discovery to understand client needs, fulfilling simple advice solutions and service, and referring more complex needs to One RBC Partners
  • Contributes to a culture of collective team success and winning as a team
  • Demonstrates flexibility in the RA role, helping in all branch zones as required as well as peer-mentoring and sharing best practices

  • Demonstrates flexibility inside our RBC Locations to enable client contact and market coverage where required

  • Takes ownership and resolves client concerns promptly at first point of contact, engages their manager when necessary. Records the complaint, and inform clients about RBC’s complaint handling process.
  • Price business and collect fees maintaining a balance of results, client profitability and relationship building
  • Build corporate memory to enable continuity of client service and future opportunity spotting, across channel and roles, by documenting details of client interactions through appropriate systems (e.g. Sales Platform, Client Connect)
