Responsible for designing, developing and leading all Value Analysis activities across the Regional Health Ministries (RHM) of the Trinity Health organization. Serves as organizational resource for leading initiatives that balance optimal clinical outcomes with appropriate product utilization and supply stewardship.
Works in tandem with the Unified Clinical Organization (UCO), Chief Nursing Officers (CNO's) and Clinical Service Line Leaders at the RHM level as a consultative knowledgeable resource in identifying clinical care variation through product usage and consumption data in an effort to advance the standard of care in nursing practice.
Develops collaborative system-wide Value Analysis programs, scaled to the organization that will foster accountability and enhance optimal supply spend in all Med/Surg product categories. Directs activities that create closed supply formularies, increasing contract compliance while reducing stock keeping units (SKU's), using a clinically driven standardization process.
Develops scorecards, dashboards and metrics to better manage product consumption, track cost savings, cost avoidance and lost opportunities categories at an RHM and system level.
Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the mission, vision and values of Trinity Health in leadership behaviors, practices and decisions.
Supervises colleagues in Livonia and the various Regional Health Ministries, providing both virtual and onsite support, mentoring, managing, and educating. Establishes annual common goals and provides feedback into annual review process.
Develops strategies and processes for reducing supply expense for product standardization and utilization, benchmarked best practices and data driven analysis. Utilizes clinical evidence based data to coordinate activities at the RHMs to assist with better patient outcomes on products used.
Utilizes designated methodology for calculating savings targets and tracking realization based on savings categories; contract compliance, utilization review and new technology cost avoidance.
Identifies opportunities for product compression to improve internal and external operating costs and establishes a process for product succession through product closed product formularies.
Leads initiatives across the organization and across the continuum of care.
Works with physician and clinician champions as needed to ensure understanding and support of Value Analysis initiatives.
Works and collaborates with key stakeholders, RHM senior management, Group Purchasing Organizations (GPOs), COI, sourcing managers and suppliers to identify cost reduction opportunities and remove barriers to those opportunities when necessary.
Facilitates and serves as a clinical resource for Trinity Health Value Analysis Council and Ministry Value Analysis Teams:
Promotes and articulates value analysis concepts and principles to all levels of the organization
Supports the RHM in the identification of cost reduction opportunities related to utilization misalignment (i.e., waste, misuse, over-specification, under-specification).
Identifies continued opportunities for contract optimization and compliance
Prepares executive summaries to outline complex issues which require senior leadership decisions and recommendations.
Incorporates reimbursement information into value analysis supply expense reduction initiatives to determine actual profitability levels.
Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State and local laws/regulations; the Trinity Health Integrity and Compliance Program and Code of Conduct; as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.

Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of clinical products and Supply Chain management principles and practices as normally acquired through completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or a related field and seven (7) to ten (10) years of work experience in an acute care setting or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Two (2) to four (4) years of Supply Chain Management experience preferred. Master’s degree preferred.
Must possess ability to develop relationships/interact professionally with employees across different levels of the organization including senior management.
Must possess excellent teamwork skills and be comfortable giving and receiving direction.
Must possess experience in project and change management.
Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills, including expertise with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Visio.
Lawson experience preferred.
Must possess strong analytical skills and ability to synthesize findings in a clear, concise manner.
Must have experience in the identification and realization of supply chain cost savings activities.
Must have working knowledge of Group Purchasing Organizations and contract compliance strategies.
Must be comfortable presenting in public to all levels of the organization.
Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

Must be able to travel to the various Trinity Health sites (30%) or as needed.
