Leadership and development of ASA staff to meet financial and production targets within Aviagen Group
Preparing annual budgets and manage them accordingly
Management of over 65 FTE with Farm and Hatchery Managers reporting directly to the position.
Responsibility for farm and hatchery production as well as distribution of Aviagen stock domestically
Prepare and present production reports to senior management
Ensure accurate data capturing and recording for reporting purposes
Management of existing customer relationships
Implementation of significant capital investment projects
Ensuring Aviagen’s Mission, Vision, and Values are applied in the business unit
Other Qualifications
The successful candidate will ideally be educated to degree level with recent relevant experience of the poultry industry being an advantage.
You will have a proven track record of developing strong customer relationships and have the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
The ability to deal with complex challenges and responsibilities associated with livestock production should be demonstrable.
Experience with people management skills
Prepared to undertake detailed tasks where necessary
Displays a “can do” attitude and a “delivery” mind-set.
The successful candidate will be located in the Heidelberg, Johannesburg area, but may be expected to travel throughout South Africa and internationally as required.
