Purpose of Role

Under Armour is looking for a Senior Marketing Manager for the Distributor Markets EMEA based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The position reports directly to the Sr. Marketing Director EMEA. The ideal candidate will have a strong proven track record of brand planning and implementing effective brand, retail and sports marketing strategies and programs for a sports or lifestyle brand. 

The position is responsible for leading the strategic planning and implementation of Brand, Sports and Retail marketing programs for Under Armour in the Distributor Markets in EMEA; Italy, Scandinavia, Greece, Poland, Eastern Europe, Russia & CIS, Austria, Spain, Middle East, Turkey, Balkans, Israel, North Africa, South Africa and the UK & EU Golf Distributor. This role will be a coordinating role, since you will be directing the distributor markets to deliver executional excellence and brand building for Under Armour. 

The position will be specifically measured against the ability to drive brand awareness and consumer conversion within the specific regions.

Your Impact

  • Develop an 18-month marketing plan tied to the Distributor business plans together with marketing leads in countries, following the seasonal GTM process. 
  • Lead and manage the annual and seasonal marketing calendar for Distributors dictating the process and priorities for all initiatives and channels.
  • Direct and co-develop DTC and key account marketing plans with the Sales Distributors lead and the key marketing leads in country, aligned with the regional seasonal initiatives.
  • Provide guidance in developing seasonal communication, sports and retail marketing plans for and with the distributors, aligned with the cross functional EMEA Marketing team. 
  • Ensure an omnichannel communication approach within the distributor marketplace, with seamless alignment on retail, ecomm sites, accounts brandshops, media, events and PR.
  • Approve the execution of retail and communication materials around seasonal and category initiatives, to deliver executional excellence. 
  • Control and manage annual marketing budget planning together with the distributors.
  • Support on all Media and PR agency partnerships in the distributor markets.
  • Quarterly report all Distributor plans and marketing activities to the EMEA management team.
  • Strong understanding across communication and retail marketing mechanics.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively with team members across all departments.
  • Ability to prioritize and work under pressure with multiple deadlines.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented.
  • Strong presentation skills. Both verbal and written.
  • Willing to regularly travel throughout EMEA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field.
  • +8 years of experience and +2 years of team management, proven track record in brand and trade marketing experience within EMEA across sports and/or lifestyle brand(s), or equivalent combination of education and relation experience.
  • Fluency of English, both conversational and written is an essential function. 
  • Additional languages will be a plus. 
  • Experience working for either a start-up or high-growth organization is a plus.
  • Proven global citizen through travel and diversity of experiences.
  • Prior experience working for an international brand with a strong, premium, and distinct culture.
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills in managing international agencies/subsidiaries.

Workplace Location

  • Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our Amsterdam office.
  • Return to Work Designation: 2 days week in-office, the remainder of work week remote.
