Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs at Chicago Public Schools (CPS) are part of the Department of Early College and Career Education (ECCE) within the Office of Career and College Success (OCCS). CTE programs for CPS high schools serve 15K+ students across 70+ schools with the goal of enhancing student preparation for college and career success, as evidenced by increasing graduation rates, college enrollment rates, employment rates, and earning levels of CPS CTE students.
Job Summary:
Under the direction of the building administrator of the assigned program, the CTE Classroom Tutor - Part-Time/Temporary will assist students as they learn academic, technical, and employability skills in the CTE classroom and lab spaces. Tutors will meet with students privately or in a group setting to oversee the completion of CTE assignments, work with students to improve technical skills, and further elaborate on concepts learned in the classroom or lab space. Tutors aim to assist students and promote a deeper understanding of course materials while maintaining a safe learning environment that fosters student achievement.
