Job Summary

Under direction, performs a wide variety of professional accounting duties in the preparation, maintenance and review of financial records and reports related to a specific area of assignment; performs other related duties as required. Perform the most complex accounting assignments and exercise considerable judgement in applying accounting principles to interpret data and develop solutions.

Essential Duty 1:

Reviews, analyzes, reconciles, and maintains various financial schedules, ledgers, funds, and accounts

Essential Duty 2:

Collaborates in the preparation of a wide range of tasks as part of the on-going budget process, including compiling, tabulating, analyzing, and reviewing financial data for the administration of the department’s and/or district’s budget.

Essential Duty 3:

Develop and implement complex accounting system modifications and participate in the analysis and implementation of financial standards, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with district or other agency requirements.

Position Specific Responsibility 1:

Assist with monthly reimbursement requests, annual expense reports and other reports as required by the district and by other organizations or agencies.

Position Specific Responsibility 2:

Plan, implement, and approve account resolutions and related activities.

Position Specific Responsibility 3:

Compiles a variety of financial, statistical, budgetary, tax, grant, and/or accounting analysis reports

Position Specific Responsibility 4:

Coordinate and participate in the processing of account related information such as debt allocation, budget preparation, payroll, accounts receivable, and/or accounts payable. 

Position Specific Responsibility 5:

Provide information and assistance to internal and external auditors.

Position Specific Responsibility 6:

Interact with staff, different departments, and/or external agencies to ensure accuracy of accounts, respond to inquiries, and provide accounting support.

Other Responsibilities:

Performs other duties or tasks as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the responsibilities in this job classification.

Education and Experience Requirements

Education (training/degree):

Required minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Preferred: Masters in Business Administration or related field.

Licenses, Certifications or Registrations Required:

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or working toward that designation preferred.

Experience:

Seven (7) years of relevant accounting experience

Skills Required:

Knowledge of accepted accounting principles, techniques, and standards;

governmental accounting principles; cost accounting and budgeting principles; accounting information systems software and hardware.

Meal Deduction – Most Bransford office and district level employee have a meal deduction. They are scheduled 8.5 hours per day and get an hour lunch. Itinerants and retirees get a 30 minute lunch period and therefore do not have a meal deduction. All school based employees will not have a meal deduction. Auto Meal Deduction

Travel – Itinerant non-exempt employees who travel will be using the time clock differently than others and are paid for travel time between work locations. Employee does not or seldom travels
