The Opportunity

Hyatt Hotels Corporation seeks an Internal Auditor to join our Finance department where you’ll join a team of 45 other Internal Auditors who work in a collaborative and dynamic environment and who are valued as consultants to their internal clients – partnering with them in the auditing process and advising on efficiencies. In this role, you will work closely with the Director of Finance at hotels across the brand portfolio, partnering with them to make Hyatt a leading hospitality company. The Role

This role serves as a partner to the Director of Finance within the hotel – providing objective evaluations, process improvement solutions, effective communication, and guidance in recommending effective internal control standards and adhere to compliance regulations. The department’s overall auditing approach is not to say: “This is wrong.” But instead say: “Here’s how you can do this better,” or “Here are ways to do this more efficiently.” At the end of each audit, you see the impact of your work on the business and know you’ve contributed value to the hotel. The individual will be based out in Hong Kong and work under limited supervision from the Internal Audit Manager with moderate latitude for initiative and independent judgment.

Additional responsibilities include:

  • Executing Management Operation Review (“MOR”) in accordance with agreed-upon scope guidance. Identifying and evaluating the company’s risk areas and providing key input to the development of the annual audit plan.
  • Performing audit procedures, including identifying issues, conducting interviews, reviewing and analyzing evidence, and documenting audit work papers and reports.
  • Developing recommendations using independent judgment concerning areas being reviewed.
  • Communicating the results of audit and consulting projects via written reports and oral presentations to senior-level management.
  • Identify opportunities to increase the use of data analytics in audit testing procedures. 
  • Represent Internal Audit with various organizational project teams. Develop and maintain productive relationships throughout the company through individual contacts and meetings.
  • Up to 70% travel but may change with business conditions and requirement

Qualifications

Experience Required: 

  • 3-5 years full-time in auditing, accounting, or business analysis.
  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Hospitality.
  • Proficiency in English is required. Any additional languages would be an advantage.

Experience Preferred: 

  • Hotel accounting or external audit experience. Big Four Accounting Firms experience preferred.
  • Certification as a CPA, CIA, CISA, or Chartered Accountant
  • Travel Visa: Easy access internationally.
