Principal Consultant - Contaminated Land

ERM is seeking a motivated Principal Contaminated Land Consultant to join our team in Perth to support our services in the mining and oil & gas sectors. The ideal candidates will bring significant consulting experience, in order to provide technical leadership, strategic direction, and strong project management. An interest in applying existing knowledge and expertise to solve complex challenges in the mining sector is critical.

You will be part of a dynamic technical team responsible for consulting to a variety of clients to build a sustainable business locally, while networking with ERM's national, regional and global teams to share best practices across the industry.

Role Profile:

To support the successful delivery of ERM projects and objectives by:

  • Understanding client needs and delivering sustainable outcomes and closures;
  • Initiating and leading sales efforts, including proactive business development, proposal writing and delivery
  • Managing large, complex, multidisciplinary or global projects
  • Producing, overseeing and reviewing the compilation of technical project reports
  • Managing and mentoring multiple project teams
  • Serving as the Service Area lead for the business unit or geography
  • Utilising established networks, internally and externally to benefit ERM and client delivery

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in earth science, environmental science, engineering, planning or related field.
  • 10+ years of consulting experience with contaminated sites, including experience of working with the mining, oil and gas, manufacturing, infrastructure or development sectors within the WA market.
  • The preferred candidate would have existing client contacts and a sound knowledge of the local market on which to build.
  • Understanding of local regulatory context, including established relationships with regulatory stakeholders.
  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges, and recognize corporate opportunities.
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic projects.
  • Proven experience mentoring and growing a team of consultants to produce high performing teams.
  • Authorisation to work in Australia.
