Operations Manager

SOM Office of Multicultural Affairs, Sr Vice President/Dean - Medicine

Location: New Orleans, LA

Summary

Reporting to the School of Medicine Assistant Dean and Director of the Office of Multicultural Affairs, the Operations Manager will assist in the implementation of programs designed to facilitate longitudinal, systematic, and focused initiatives resulting in positive diversity outcomes for the School of Medicine. Additional responsibilities will include facilitation and implementation of pipeline programs aimed at achieving diversity among qualified applicants for medical school admission and the evaluation of program and partnership outcomes. Duties will also include planning, organizing and deliverance of bias, cultural competency, and racism training to the School of Medicine community. The incumbent will manage the SOM OMA Website and social media platforms.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Experience working in an administrative capacity facilitating and organizing program
  • Website content management
  • Administrative and management experience
  • Excellent computer skills including use of Excel and Excel Pivot Tables
  • Experience using data to make management decisions and for planning
  • Ability to prioritize function independently, and to work well as part of a team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication 

Required Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree and one year of experience in related program coordination/management OR High School Diploma/equivalent.
  • Five years of experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree
  • Knowledge of SOM’s missions relative to research, education, and service
  • Experience in academic settings

This position is a exempt, salaried position assigned to pay grade 25.
