Job Summary
The Senior Consultant role requires 5-10 years of Digital Advisory Smart Building Consulting expertise with at least 3 years of hands on, direct client facing project management experience in our primary market sectors. The primary job responsibility is to work with clients to understand their business objectives, identify opportunities for digital transformation, and develop strategies to achieve those objectives. This includes providing guidance on technology selection, implementation, and adoption, leading, and managing smart building projects from start to finish, working closely with clients, vendors, and internal teams. In addition, the role includes providing expert advice and guidance to clients on all aspects of smart building design, implementation, and management.
A key aspect of this role includes participation in sales and marketing efforts including: ongoing client engagement and management, proposal preparation, shortlist interviews, and attendance at trade shows/conferences. Other important aspects of this role include participation in firm wide planning effort, goal setting and mentoring of younger consultants.
Responsibilities & Qualifications
Customer Relationship Management
- Initiate relationship with clients and serve as primary point of contact, setting and managing expectations
- Define channels of communication and provide frequent updates; keep customer and other project stakeholders apprised of progress and any necessary modifications or delays
- Approach client with a consultative frame of mind, listen and provide valuable information
- Lead project meetings and routinely seek customer feedback, respond to and resolve issues as they arise
Consulting
- Work with clients to identify business objectives and develop digital strategies to achieve those objectives
- Conduct assessments of clients' current digital capabilities and identify areas for improvement
- Develop business cases and roadmaps for digital transformation initiatives
- Provide guidance on technology selection, implementation, and adoption
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, and operations, to ensure successful implementation of digital solutions
- Monitor and report on the progress of digital transformation initiatives to clients and internal stakeholders
- Provide expert advice and guidance to clients on all aspects of smart building design, implementation, and management
- Conduct site surveys and assessments to identify opportunities for energy efficiency, sustainability, and automation
- Develop smart building solutions that meet the needs of clients and optimize energy consumption, comfort, and productivity
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, technologies, and best practices in digital transformation
Project Management
- Lead and manage smart building projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the client
- Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, and track progress against these plans
- Communicate project status, issues, and risks to clients and internal stakeholders
- Manage project teams, including internal staff and external vendors, to ensure that project goals are achieved
Sales/Marketing
- Developing project leads and referrals through personal networking and participation in industry organizations
- Strategic management of existing client relationships
- Participation in proposal preparation and “short list” interviews
- Participation in company sales and marketing meetings and other planning efforts
- Seek out “value-added” opportunities to promote other consulting services to current clients
- Writing and placing articles in industry publications, company newsletter, blogs, etc.
- Speaking and participation in industry associations and conferences
Professional/Practice Development
- Attend professional developmental seminars and conferences to stay abreast of industry changes and advances
- Provide entry-level education and guidance for other staff in support of the company's mission
- Participate and contribute to meet company goals
Travel
- This position may require limited out of town travel. This includes both project related travel and other travel such as industry conferences. This travel is typically during the week and 1-3 days in duration. Expect 1 trip every month on average. Travel is normally domestic however occasional international travel may be required.
Technical Requirements
- Strong understanding of the building design and construction process and familiarity with building management and controls
- Strong knowledge of digital technologies, including cloud computing, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, and IoT
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to develop and manage project plans, schedules, and budgets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams
- Knowledge of smart building technologies, including building automation systems, energy management systems, and IoT devices
Professional Experience Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in digital strategy development, technology consulting, or related field
- Experience with LEED certification and other sustainability frameworks
- Healthcare, aviation, financial services experience is a plus
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree from a 4-year, accredited university in business, computer science, or other technical area is required
- Master’s Degree in either business or technical area considered a plus
Software Proficiency Requirements
- In addition to strong personal computer skills including proficiency in MS Windows 10 or higher operating environment, a high level of proficiency and expertise in the following productivity tools is required and expected:
- MS Office Suite including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, etc.
This position is open to candidates across the United States. However, being located in the Northeast or Midwest would be considered an asset.

Introba is committed to pay equity. As part of that commitment, we have provided the base compensation range of $117,300 - $175,900 annually for this position and local market.
