Job Description

Job Summary:

Teledyne Brown Engineering is seeking Structural Analysis Engineers (Associate Level 1 or 2) for spacecraft development programs located in Huntsville, AL.

Position Responsibilities:

Review and understand structural requirements/verifications documentation to support the structural analysis efforts for primary and secondary structures in spaceflight hardware design.

Provide structural analyses to guide product design and verify structural integrity by using analytical methods, finite element models (Femap and Nastran) and other analysis tools throughout the product lifecycle.

Coordinate with other engineering groups to ensure the flight hardware remains structurally sound against all required loads and environmental conditions.

Support the Structures Lead and Chief Engineer in development of test plans and configurations, test execution, and analyze and report test results to validate and verify that systems and components meet requirements and specifications.

Define and document analysis and test results to substantiate that all structural requirements are satisfied.

Eagerly support proposal efforts to help bring in exciting new business.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

Bachelor and/or Masters degree from an accredited university, with a preference in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with a firm understanding of solid mechanics.

0-2 Years of experience in the following:

Creating and integrating Finite Element Models (FEM) in FEMAP.

Solving Finite Element Analysis (FEA) with NASTRAN, including the use of linear static, modal, and buckling solvers with contact modeling experience.

working with classical hand calculations for structural analysis of primary and secondary spaceflight hardware.

Using MS Word, Excel, and PPT for writing structural analysis reports, creating stress analysis templates, and comfortable preparing/giving presentations to team members and customers.

Must be a US Citizen

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

Familiarity with NASA Programs, Standards, and preferred structural analysis methodologies.

Familiarity working with the NASA SLS Artemis program.

Experience analyzing preloaded joints per NASA-STD-5020.

Programming experience to automate tasks in Excel, MathCAD, or Matlab
