ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for a Senior Network & Systems Administrator at the Broward County Convention Center.

Job Summary:

Under the direction of the IT Manager, the Senior Network & Systems Administrator role performs routine to highly complex duties in the development, integration, administration, and maintenance of the organization’s wired and wireless network infrastructure in a Convention, Sports & Entertainment facility.

Main Duties:

  • Designing, planning, provisioning, installing, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software and communication systems (LAN, WLAN, WAN, VPN, Failover ISP).
  • Experience in the administration and support of Cisco’s VOIP Call Manager system including but not limited to CUCM, Unity, Voice Gateways and Cisco Prime.
  • Installs, upgrades, replaces, configures, integrates, tests, implements, monitor, repairs, troubleshoots and maintains network hardware, software, devices and networking equipment including servers, firewalls, routers, gateways, L2 and L3 switches, access points, WLC, Access Door system, CCTV system, ISE, DNA, workstations and other equipment necessary for network operation.
  • Creates, reallocates, segments and deletes subnets or virtual networks to improve performance and increase security. Maintains wireless and wired network infrastructure reliability.
  • Monitors, analyzes, and manages systems performance, network integrity and resilience. Identify potential bottlenecks to minimize network congestion.
  • Maintains network security and ensures compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Maintains records and documents, plans and implements network upgrades and expansion projects; Assesses the needs of the network and determines what upgrades are necessary.
  • Familiar with the Cisco’s Identity Services Engine, Digital Network Architecture, RADIUS servers and 802.1x
  • Maintains network devices by applying patches and performing firmware upgrades; Maintain an uninterrupted power supply on network.
  • Performs regular backups and data restores as needed for servers, VMware ESXI, Cisco switches, VOIP, WLC, CCTV, Access Door System, ISE and DNA.
  • Work closely with vendors and tech support; performs timely upgrades and updates to commercial and open source software.
  • Assist with network security audits and inspections. Planning and testing the Disaster recovery and ransomware recovery plan. Participates in special projects as required.

Education:

Bachelor's or Associates degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Science or related fields.

Experience:

BS degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience or AS degree with a minimum of eight (8) years experience in network and systems administrative environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have active CCNP and CCNA Certification
  • Must have Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification or proof of progress towards MCSE certification
  • SSCP, CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) certifications are a plus
  • Knowledge of wired and wireless network architectures and theory, principles of network design and integration, including topologies, protocols and network load distribution
  • Experience with Microsoft Server platforms and technologies; Windows Server 2012-2016, VMware ESXi, vSphere, Exchange Server, SQL Server, IIS Web Server, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, File/Print Server administration, Storage and Software Defined technologies
  • Experience with configuring and installing LAN and WLAN equipment, file servers, workstations, print servers and data communications
  • Experience with enterprise monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG system, SecureCRT).
  • Experience with preparing clear, concise and accurate system documentation, reports of work performed, and other written materials
  • Exercise high-level problem-solving skills and follow-through on assignments
  • Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and proven problem-solving skills
  • Able to effectively follow directives, work with and communicate clearly within a Team dynamic
  • Work collaboratively and effectively as a project leader and team member
  • Able to lift and move up to 50 lbs and endure physical activities
  • Required to kneel, crawl, bend, crouch, stoop, climb ladders and frequently walk
  • Maintain a friendly demeanor, professional presentation, appearance and work ethic

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a Full-Time position. Must have a flexible schedule and be available to work after hours or on rotation when needed (evenings, weekends or holidays)
