Job Description:

L3Harris’ Communication Systems segment is currently seeking a Sr Manager, Program Manager to join our team. This position will be based at our Salt Lake City, UT facility.

Position Overview:

This person will contribute to the company’s success by providing onsight guidance and oversight for the Aerial Networks portfolio. This Senior Manager, Program Management will lead multi-functional teams in program execution, financial management, Risk & Opportunity management, proposal and production execution for USAF programs. This opportunity is for the person who has the unique blend of project management, financial management and human resource management paired with the innate ability of an effective team leader. This role will report directly to Director of Program Management, Aerial Networks and is responsible for succesfully communicating, with confidence, to ALL levels of the corporation from support personnel to Executive level leadership. This includes regular presentations and provides status updates to VPs and higher.

Essential Functions: 

  • Our Senior Managers are responsible for: governance, alignment, management, integration, optimization, tracking, finance, infrastructure, planning, improvement and growth for the Programs they lead. They also develop their direct reports into highly skilled program managers.
  • Plan and execute both development and production programs using Earned Value Management System (EVMS) methodology and tools
  • Lead cross functional teams in the execution of program requirements including peers, engineering, manufacturing, finance, contracts, etc.
  • Identify continuous improvement and cost reduction opportunities
  • Provide leadership in the development of Risk & Opportunity management
  • Coordinate with customers to identify opportunities and solutions and provide issue resolution across the program lifecycle, including proposal, production and support.
  • Provide concise reports to management on status, potential issues, risks, and solution recommendations
  • Lead proposal teams to define and develop competitive, winning proposals within the DoD community and industry partners as needed
  • Leadership and career development of direct reports
  • Growth of your assigned portfolio; must be able to commit to a forecast and deliver on commitments.
  • Able to obtain a Secret security clearance

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience

Preferred Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of DoD data links and communications CONOPs
  • Technical background (experience/education)
  • Financial management experience
  • Experience with data analysis
  • Hands on experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS) methodology and tools
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to travel on occasion and as needed (25%)
  • 6+ years experience within the DoD environment
  • TS/SCI preferred
