Overview

We are seeking a Certified Industrial Hygienist/Project Manager to join our Woburn or Weymouth Massachusetts Office. This position would be working within our Building Sciences and Industrial Hygiene business within our Environmental Sector.

The ideal candidate should have excellent communication skills both verbal and written along with 10+ years of experience in the hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene industry.

Responsibilities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - TASKS

  • Coordination and execution of regulated materials surveys for asbestos-containing materials, lead-containing materials, mold, indoor air quality, PCB's, universal wastes etc.
  • Preparation of regulated materials survey reports, abatement specifications, work plans, and Operation and Maintenance programs.
  • Manage regulated materials abatement oversight and air monitoring services.
  • Conduct indoor air quality and industrial hygiene assessments.
  • Develop industrial hygiene programs and create exposure assessment profiles.
  • Perform moisture and microbial assessments, including preparation of work plans for remediation efforts.
  • Interact and communicate with clients, contractors and regulatory agency representatives.
  • Prepare project specifications and drawings.
  • Prepare reports.
  • Travel throughout Massachusetts expected.
  • Develop proposals, manage projects, invoice for services

Qualifications

Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

  • Minimum of an Associate's Degree in Science or Engineering related field. Bachelor-s Degree is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in the hazardous building materials, indoor air quality, industrial hygiene industry.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is required.
  • Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Microbial Consultant (CMS) licenses are preferred but not necessarily required.
  • Must be able to read project specifications and drawings.
  • Prior experience in various aspects of abatement projects is a plus.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to manage various work schedules and situations related to emergency response scenarios.
  • Intuitive and creative thinker. Understanding of their surroundings and reason the services are being provided. A consultative demeanor and ability to work with customers / clients and offers solutions when needed.
  • Work as a team player.
  • Ability to carry and climb ladders and being able to use hand and power tools.
  • Be able to wear a respirator, safety harness and other safety equipment as needed
  • Must be able to price services, prepare proposals, manage projects/clients and manage staff assigned to project.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, physical and motor vehicle records check.
  • Valid Drivers License is required
  • Must be able to commute to project sites as-needed
