Global Business Development Manager (m/f/d)

Job Purpose

Manage and Drive the product development for DHL Ocean Bulk, part of DGF. Implement and execute customer specific strategies in conjunction with the product commercial head, sector heads, M&S organization. Manage all large projects for Global business development with limited oversight from manager.

Job Tasks

  • Sector focus: research on various sector trends and topics for business development purpose.
  • Logistics solution development support for specific sector
  • Prepare various presentations for management update/customer meeting/customer conferences.
  • Intelligently and constructively challenge Global Business Development team members on what is going on in their sectors/regions, identify strategic initiatives and best practice
  • Organize and support various customer events (planning and content)
  • Regional interface / stakeholder management with Global Sector Head, Regional Sector Heads and Sales community.
  • Annual review of business development structure and portfolio assignment.
  • Collaborate with different M&S functions on ad-hoc projects
  • Executive Sponsorship Program & Process, Customer In/Out Process, CDP reviews and template development for all initiatives in collaboration with Product
  • Consult / provide input on key presentations / meetings.
  • Provide MNC with research on customers & sector trends
  • Prepare Global BRM with Head of MNC & BC, manage follow up on agreed actions.
  • Lead and support the key annual projects (within DGF and X-BU, e.g. CDPs, customer in/out, MNC model, Team calls, initiatives with Product/Sales Steering/Marketing
  • Implements the sector strategies in conjunction with the GSH into the regions and countries
  • Develop ongoing programs with Business Development supporting our overall growth initiatives
  • Design & implement process to support functional synergies across regions and countries on SBC program
  • Define and track budget measurements against SBC BCA, Overall sector Strategies and BD Budgets
  • Build commercial interfaces to other functions not only within M&S but product and CSI

Job Requirements

  • Ability to develop overall strategies with multiple inputs.
  • Experience that demonstrates strong leadership skills.
  • Must have a strong sales background.
  • Demonstrated analytical, numeric, written, and problem solving skills.
  • Proficient in Excel , PowerPoint & problem solving.
  • Persuasive, strong communications skills & strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven ability to manage in an informal matrix structure.
  • Internationally orientated and well-rounded business skills and experience.
  • Team oriented.
  • Action oriented driven by results
  • Self-motivated, good time management skills.
  • Sales background.
  • At least 6 or more years’ experience or advanced education in related field.
