Job Title: Heavy Duty Driver

Job Summary:
Responsible for transporting goods from one place to another using heavy duty truck or tractor-trailer trucks. Operates truck with high level of honesty and sincerity and abide by all Government traffic regulations.
Duties
- Report to work daily at 6:00 A.M. and observe that any minute after the reporting time will be considered as lateness. Work schedule runs from Monday to Saturday, scheduled Sundays and scheduled Holidays;
- Load and unload cargo,
- Record amount and type of cargo being delivered,
- Drive long distance,
- Fill up on fuel and clean truck,
- Follow all applicable traffic laws,
- Inspect the truck before and after the trip and record any defects found,
- Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs,
- Keep a log of their activities,
- Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel,
- Keep the truck, and associated equipment, clean and in good working order,
- Collecting delivery instructions from appropriate sources, and verifying instructions and route,
- Take special precautions while driving,
- Keep driver license up to date,
- You must drive vehicles in a professional manner and make sure they are adequately maintained;
- Inform Management and Security before taking lunch break and / or emergency break
- Must always be courteous and polite,
- Signal to the Administration at least 2 weeks before the expiry date of the documents of the cars (insurance, maintenance, road worthiness certificate etc.)
- You must drive vehicles in a professional manner and make sure they are adequately maintained;
- Perform other duties as may be assigned;
- Perform all other tasks instructed by your supervisor for the ultimate success of the company and to achieve Management & Shareholders goals.
Personal Hygiene
- Uniforms must be clean, press and must be worn with well polish black shoes;
- Your hair must be cut and comb daily before coming to work;
- You must bathe and use deodorant daily;
- Uniforms must always be ironed and clean
Conduct
- Always wear a seat belt
- Keep radio/music to a low volume when operating vehicles
- No other accessories such as (flip flops, sandals & wedge heels)
- Do not answer phones/text while driving
- Always be attentive and alert
