Job Description

This is a key role where you will provide consulting services to a variety of clients to support the various stages of the Functional Safety and Alarm Management lifecycles.

You will participate in automation systems projects (both brownfield and green field) involving legacy and modern technologies in automation and digital control and safety systems.

Working along with other members of the team or as an individual you will be expected to use client supplied information such as, Scopes of Work, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Functional Descriptions, I/O lists to develop or modify control systems to meet the project requirements.

Although the role will be predominantly office based, depending on the scope and client, there will be site work including inspections, audits, site acceptance testing, and commissioning.

As a primary workstream you will provide the following services to clients:

Functional Safety Services

  • Functional Safety Management
  • Functional Safety Assessments
  • Functional Safety Audits
  • Layer Of Protection Analysis\ SIL determination
  • SIF design
  • SIL verification

Additionally, you will provide the following alarm management services as needed:

  • Alarm lifecycle management
  • Alarm system management
  • Documentation and Rationalization
  • Bad actor identification and management
  • Alarm System Audits

Qualifications

  • Degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics or relevant subject. Related experience in lieu of qualifications can be considered.
  • 10 - 12 years relevant work experience
  • Functional Safety qualification (Exida, TUV, ISA)
