Under direction of the Sr. Vice President & Chief Medical Officer, the Chairman of the Department of Medicine will work with the Medical Executive Committee, the Chief of Staff and the Chief Medical Officer. The Chairman of the Department of Medicine provides leadership and oversight to the Department of medicine and its sections, including business meetings, section meetings, Morbidity and Mortality Reviews and development of clinical protocols.
Maintain a role in clinical medicine (0.6 administrative, 0.4 clinical)
Patient Care - Passionate role model for clinical excellence and patient care. Drives quality, patient safety and clinical outcomes.
Physician Relations - Acts as liaison between employed/voluntary medical staff and administration.
Patient Experience - Engages and supports patient experience programs and practices.
Business Development - Develops plans to grow the business, assures program development and acquires required equipment, technologies and facilities.
Strategic Planning - Participates in developing and implementing strategic goals
Talent Management - Manages, develops and motivates staff.
Research - Provides research leadership, when applicable.
