The position

As a Legal & Compliance Sr. Director, you will serve as General Counsel and Compliance Officer for the Argentina Affiliate with overall responsibility for Legal & Ethics Compliance ensuring pro-active high quality advice, providing direction and support on Legal & Ethics Compliance matters for the business, driving the Compliance Plan and managing risks.

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Manage Legal Affairs, providing fast, effective, high quality and business-oriented legal support and advice in key projects, litigation matters, disputes, arbitrations and daily operations.
  • Manage Ethics Compliance Affairs, developing, implementing and continually evaluating the effectiveness of the Global, IO, Regional and Affiliate Ethics Compliance programmes, actions and activities, as well as processes and procedures in the Affiliate.
  • Manage legal and Ethics Compliance risks, including internal and external investigations, disputes and litigation for the Affiliate.
  • Manage resources and legal & compliance staff , including the internal team and overseeing external counsel management at the Affiliate.
  • Represent the Legal & Compliance function, including the Affiliate Management Team, Regional Office and Global. Also, represent Novo Nordisk at key external meetings.
  • Act as Local Data Protection Officer, safeguarding compliance on local personal data overview and related documentation; cultivate data compliance mindset in the organisation and drive and support plans to data subject requests and risk assessments.

Qualifications

  • You have a Law Degree and are admitted to the applicable legal bar/law society. Ph.D. in Law or LL.M. degree or equivalent will be considered as a plus.
  • Experienced and qualified professional, with more than 8 years legal experience with 5 in the pharmaceutical, chemical, life sciences or medical device industry.
  • Extensive Local knowledge with Ethics Compliance in pharmaceutical or medical device industry (including codes of conduct, FCPA and UK Anti-bribery Act).
  • People management experience.
  • Fluent English and Spanish is required.
