Description

The Regional Advisor (RA) role is key in both relevant technical expertise and account management responsibility. The RA reports to the Senior Regional Manager and is responsible for developing strong relationships at all appropriate levels within assigned client organizations for Nuclear in Japan. The RA proactively promotes EPRI’s capabilities and programs in order to enhance revenue growth of assigned clients including new members. The RA will have strong general knowledge of EPRI’s capabilities as well as strong understanding of the local key political drivers and industry issues for Japan. Regional Advisors will be called upon to make general as well as sector specific presentations.

Duties & Responsibilities

Establish strong relationships at all appropriate levels within assigned accounts. Make general as well as specific sales calls and presentations to broaden client engagement. Understand the client’s strategic issues, business objectives, unique needs and decision-making processes to drive revenue growth. Identify and capture new opportunities by taking innovative & proactive approaches. Develop and execute sales strategy for Nuclear by collaborating with Senior Reginal Manager in Japan and local sector technical staffs and aligning with sector R&D’s business & resource plans. Proactively identify existing EPRI products and solutions that can be positioned to meet and exceed client needs. Manage the sales process from client needs assessment through the close of sales and coordinate appropriate internal cross-functional support as needed. Work with and support the Senior Regional Managers in Japan to develop and execute on client, and regional strategic plans. Possess an in-depth technical comprehension of sector R&D portfolio with ability to represent to clients all technical products. Capture client, market and product feedback to help support and influence future EPRI product development. Proactively capture and communicate value to document impacts and benefits to assigned clients on a regular basis throughout the year. Identify, develop and cultivate relationships with client end users to facilitate effective technology transfer. Work with end users to support implementation/application of relevant EPRI results and provide feedback to sector R&D staff and Regional Manager as appropriate to enhance technology transfer Actively promotes the implementation and broad acceptance of EPRI’s tools/results broadly across the client organization. Develop industry contacts and networks to help promote EPRI R&D acceptance and grow revenue in the assigned country/region. Stand in for Senior Regional Manager when required to do so. Act as an ambassador for EPRI in regards to Foreign Corrupt Practices Act

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • Solid understanding of account management and sales practices/principles with the ability to drive the sales process from needs assessment to close.
  • Self-starter and ability to think strategically.
  • Ability to effectively engage at all levels within client organizations.
  • Minimum five years experience in selling complex technical solutions to the electric utility or similar industry. 
  • Broad understanding of the energy industry with specific expertise in nuclear
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work toward common goals in a team atmosphere.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills in both Japanese and English. Effective presentation development and delivery skills.
  • Willing to travel approximately 50% of the time.
  • Strong PC skills including the full Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Bachelor’s degree required in technical discipline. Engineering degree preferred along with advanced degree.
