Job Description Summary:
The Department of Pediatrics, Division of Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics, at the University of Kansas School of Medicine—Wichita is seeking a candidate for a full-time faculty position to join an existing team of pediatric developmental & behavioral physicians. This position provides clinical care in a multi-discipline subspecialty clinic and participates in development of the curriculum and education of the residents in the developmental & behavioral clinic environment. Our team is the primary teaching faculty in developmental & behavioral pediatrics for our residents and medical students.
Job Description:
Required Qualifications
- MD/DO Degree
- Kansas Licensure
- Board eligible or certified in Developmental & Behavioral Pediatrics
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in teaching in an academic setting
- Ability to speak, read, and understand Spanish
Job Duties
Clinical Responsibilities - 90%
- Provide direct patient care for developmental & behavioral patients
- Equitable participation in holiday, weekend, and call coverage
- Work in conjunction with pediatric subspecialists, including cardiology, critical care, endocrinology, gastroenterology, infectious disease, neurology, nephrology, oncology, orthopedics, radiology, and surgery, to provide effective and co-manage developmental & behavioral pediatric care
- Work and collaborate with department APRN's to ensure the highest level of patient care is provided.
- Participate in quality improvement and patient safety activities to improve efficiency and clinical care for patients
- Maintain board certification in pediatrics
Academic Responsibilities – 10%
- Participate in curriculum development for the developmental & behavioral rotations, assuring the ACGME standards are met
- Educate, supervise, and participate in the evaluation process of residents, medical students, and other allied health trainees
- Attend and actively participate in division and departmental meetings
- Serve on selected departmental and hospital committees as requested by the division director or chair
