Business Development Manager SSA – Clean Technologies

Your responsibilities

We are seeking a Business Development Manager who has extensive experience in the renewable energy and clean chemicals sectors (green hydrogen, green ammonia, green methanol etc.) to drive growth and project successes. This role will support the existing Client base as well as identify and develop a new Client base.

A key focus for this position is the emerging green technology business and pursuing customers and projects in the green hydrogen, green ammonia, green methanol and gasification sectors.

It also includes other Uhde sustainable technologies. The role includes developing and executing sales strategies for Clients and regions from initial engagement to proposal submission and handover to the project team.

The successful candidate will be required to fulfill the job as summarised below, but not limited to:

  • Develop in-depth knowledge of thyssenkrupp Uhde’s green and sustainable technology portfolio and project execution models (EP, EPC, EPCM)
  • Increase Uhde’s brand presence and visibility in the market by attending / presenting at conferences, seminars and producing articles on technology and service offerings for publication in engineering focused print and media
  • Continuously research and analyze green chemicals market and business development opportunities as well as monitor bid sites and platforms
  • Drive business growth and expansion into assigned regions and accounts, working closely with other Regional Sales Managers, marketing, and other internal stakeholders
  • Create and maintain professional relationships with new prospective and existing clients as well as internal global stakeholders
  • Develop and implement Client and regional specific strategies. This includes developing value propositions and strategies to tailor the company’s services and offering to the actual needs of the customer

Your profile

  • The candidate must be in possession of at least a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, preferably Chemical or Mechanical.
  • 10+ years of experience in business development or sales
