Role Summary/Purpose:

General Manger - Commercial & Contracts ( Freight Business) will responsible for managing customer relationships for all aspects of India Diesel Locomotive contract which includes Maintenance Service Agreememt. As the operational phase will have significant operational engagement with IR (Indian Railways) at Central , Zonal & Division level , this role will front end all the formal communications at various levels with the customer ensuring compliance to the contract and internal company policies.

Essential Responsibilities:

The General Manger - Commercial & Contracts ( Freight Business) who is the single point of contact for our customer Indian Railways will focus on following areas:

  • Lead the commercial interface between IR and Wabtec complete D Loco Project & MSA (maintenance scope) of the overall contract to meet project milestones, customer commitments & business operational goals
  • Work closely with Locomotive Program Management team & manage customer interface for MSA (maintenance scope) to meet project milestones, customer commitments & business operational goals
  • Implement & track key metrics/KPIs, data management and reporting to customer meet contractual obligations as well as negotiate penalties, incentive & deviations within the contract framework
  • To resolve execution issues, coordinate contract amendments, legal/contractual customer communications & manage day-to-day customer stakeholder relationships
  • Roll out and manage commercial & operational framework for working closely with cross functional teams of Program Management , Engineering , Quality & Reliability , service operations including Payable Spares, finance & product management teams

Specific to Services

  • Provide tactical support to project execution including maintaining the master project tracker, updates & linkages with other functions
  • Setup invoicing & cash collections process, work with finance and OTR teams to drive collections to meet business goals

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s /Master’s Degree in Engineering or Business
  • >15 Year experience in Project Management , commercial operations & account management activities with large/government customers. Experience in working with railway sector and government PSU organizations sectors would be preferred
  • Good understanding of business operations such as supply chain, contract mgmt., cash collections, etc.
  • Ability to project manage complex initiatives,
