Who will you be joining?

Group Economic Research (GER) carries out macroeconomic, financial market and insurance trends research. GER provides economic and strategic advice to Allianz’ board of management. Our services range from economic forecasts to scenario analysis to thematic research for decision-making and thought leadership. Externally, we represent the position of Allianz on economic and capital markets issues, including economic policies and trends affecting the insurance sector.

How can you make an impact?

As Global Head of Macroeconomic and Capital Market Research, you will oversee the analysis of economic and capital markets to support decision-making buy internal stakeholders (investments, risk management, strategic development), and deliver topnotch insights to clients, prospects, and the media. You will report to the Chief Economist of the Allianz Group.

You will also: 

• Have global responsibility for research, analysis and evaluation of macroeconomics and capital markets
• Lead the development of high-quality reports and presentations on macroeconomics, capital market, economic policy trends and political topics
• Promote innovative research (new indicators and themes) as a contribution to thought leadership and branding
• Lead the team of ~ 7 people

What are you made of?

• Outstanding PhD or Master's degree in Economics / Business Administration/ Finance with relevant experience in a research environment of a public or financial institutions
• Deep expertise in high-quality research on macroeconomic forecasts, capital markets trends and country risk analysis, with at least 10 years of relevant professional and business experience
• Visionary competence coupled with strong analytical skills
• Experience delivering excellent presentations to internal and external audience
• Customer orientation
• Intellectual agility to identify and address interdependencies and cause-and-effect relationships, and the ability to reduce the complexity of inter-relationships
• High performance demands on oneself and one's environment, combined with above-average commitment to achieving the goals set
• Solid leadership experience, the ability to partner and ensure effective working relationships in teams, with colleagues and with external parties
• Advanced IT skills (including economic data providers (Datastream Refinitiv) and standard econometric software (R, Python, EViews)
• Excellent command of English both written and spoken
