Broadcom China Datacenter FAE (BJ/SH) - DCSG NIC

Job description

The Field Application Engineer (FAE) is responsible for technical support of Broadcom’s Datacenter Solutions Group (DCSG) business within webcloud, Telco customers, and server OEMs in China region. The DCSG NIC FAE will support customers on Broadcom Ethernet network interface cards (NIC) and controllers. The qualified candidate must have solid knowledge and expertise in Ethernet and good understanding in X86 server architecture and Linux kernel & virtualization. This role also requires strong background and understanding of both software (Firmware, Driver, OS) and hardware(PCB).

For all assigned customers and projects, this role is capable to

• support sales to identify new business opportunities
• close the design wins by providing technical support
• help customer to debug/investigate any designs or production issues
• coordinate the communication between back-end engineering team and customers
• ensure the customer’s satisfactory on Broadcom
• drive and grow the overall Broadcom sales revenue

This role also requires strong English communication capability, in both written and oral, to support the daily work with back-end support team and product team.

Other than to lead the direct technical support in webcloud customers, Telco customers and server OEM customers, this FAE role also needs to collect data and information from customer on their needs and planning, to help product team to define the right strategy. This role also needs to provide direct support for some strategic end-customers in order to influence their preference in Broadcom solutions. It will be good plus for candidates to have knowledge and background in customer applications such as AI/ML and distributed storage in order to support the engagement with Datacenter customers which require multiple Broadcom solutions including network switching, PCIe switching, storage, and optics.

Requirements

• Solid Ethernet controller or adapter background and good understanding of webcloud customers, Telco customers, and server OEM
• Solid understanding of Ethernet I/O and HPC
• Good understanding of X86 server architecture
• Familiar to Linux kernel and virtualization
• Experience in driver coding and troubleshooting is good plus
• Experience in adapter PCB hardware design is good plus
• Experience in AI/ML is good plus
• Experience in distributed storage is good plus
• Storage or Optics knowledge is a plus
• Good written & oral English
• Self-motivated & passionate
• Good team spirit
• 7+ years working experience
• 3+ years working experience in global company
• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or EE
