Job Description
Teledyne Hastings Instruments, a unit of the Environmental and Electronic Measurement Instruments Group of Teledyne Technologies, is a trusted manufacturer of a wide range of quality Vacuum Instruments and Gas Mass Flow Instruments. Our vacuum product line includes the original DV-4 and DV-6 thermocouple gauge tubes, along with other vacuum sensors used in combination with meters and controllers that cover a wide range of vacuum pressure from atmosphere to ultra-high vacuum. The gas mass flow line of meters and controllers cover a broad range of flow rates from 5 sccm to 15,000 slm that includes a variety of flexible options for outputs, calibration, and fittings. Located in Hampton, VA, Teledyne Hastings is a part of the fast growing Instrumentation segment of Teledyne Technologies Incorporated (NYSE:TDY) ISO 9001:2008.

Job Summary:
Performs product inspection and/or audits of quality assurance of limited complexity. Performs sampling and testing of incoming components and raw materials and packaging line and manufacturing inspections. Inspects and tests product manufactured or processed by suppliers to ensure conformance to requirements and specifications. Identifies material and processes as conforming or nonconforming. Writes simple reports of findings for review. Enters required data into system. Work is typically performed under close supervision.

Education and/or Experience High School diploma or GED equivalent and some degree of vocational or technical training in environmental, health and safety preferred and/or equivalent combination of education and 0-2 years of experience in a directly related field.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with other employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of MS Outlook; MS Excel and MS Word software.
