Job Summary

Acts as a team member in the delivery of quality, direct patient care. Performs basic skills per department guidelines and communicates observations to members of the health care team.

Essential Functions

  • Provides direct patient care under the direction of the Unit Manager or Licensed Nurse, consistent with policies and procedures of the unit.
  • Responsible for direct day-to-day care of assigned residents/patients including dressing, bathing, transporting and feeding.
  • Documents care provided as directed in a manner consistent with guidelines.
  • Maintains patients’ environment/work area/equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to the appropriate department/unit personnel.
  • Complete and maintain required number of CNA educational hours.
  • Participation in select unit quality monitoring activities under the direction of the Unit Manager or Nurse Leader.

Qualifications

  • Required High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required Completion of State of Michigan approved CNA Training Course
  • CRT-Nursing Assistant - PROMETRIC Prometric Lakeland 120 Days required
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - AHA American Heart Association United/Kelsey, Big Rapids, Reed City, Gerber & Continuing Care (except Hospice) BSL certification not required at Lakeland Pine Ridge long term care facility. 90 Days required Or
  • CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) - ARC American Red Cross United/Kelsey, Big Rapids, Reed City, Gerber & Continuing Care (except Hospice) BLS certification not required at Lakeland Pine Ridge long term care facility. 90 Days required
