JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an Account Manager/Director (m/f/d) for our 3 hotels The Westin Grand Munich, Four Points by Sheraton Munich Arabellapark, Aloft Munich with immediate effect.

Working with the Director of Sales & Marketing, this position is responsible for maximizing room, F&B, conference and banquet business from a defined customer base. This position is considered a Senior Account Manager/Director within the sales structure and therefore requires a high level of self-motivation and the ability to work unsupervised and independently. This position is responsible for managing sales accounts and not the day-to-day management of the sales team.

This is what your day looks like

  • Manage a pre-determined number of key accounts/key prospects and other active customers to ensure maximum revenue in line with budgetary targets
  • Maintaining valid call objectives and relevant action plans for each key account/key prospect and ensuring all follow up is completed in a timely manner
  • Proactively solicit new clients for the properties and follow up on the sales process until they are converted into "producing" clients
  • Collaborate with external sales channels to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative 
  • Take personal responsibility to ensure standards are met and system is utilized to its fullest potential
  • Maintain current activity and rate information for each account
  • Understand and process group and event requests and ensure proper handoff and follow up with the event team
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to facilitate future bookings (including but not limited to sales calls, entertainment, familiarization trips and training, trade shows and site visits)
  • Personally responsible for understanding the Sales & Marketing action plan and required budget guidelines to make informed decisions
  • Actively participate in the annual planning process in support of the Director of Sales and Marketing
  • Understanding of overall marketing, including competitor strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand, rates and product information, etc., and knowing how to sell against them
  • Represent and promote Marriott International's quality image at every opportunity

Supporting Functions

  • Timely and accurate routing of customer requests to all internal departments to ensure excellent guest service.
  • Ensure accurate follow-up and communication both internally with reservations, events and accounting departments and for confirmation to the customer
  • Assume responsibility for compiling and executing quarterly sales promotion plans in consultation with the Director of Sales & Marketing 
  • Communicate any obstacles to the execution of action plans to the Director of Sales & Marketing
  • Participate in MICE strategy meetings
  • Assume responsibility for agreed upon projects, such as calling days, sales blitz, communication of promotions and news or updates
  • Creating group/banquet requests and forwarding them to the event team for further processing

This is what we looking for

  • Command of the German and English languages, both written and spoken, as well as negotiation skills
  • Education in sales and marketing, additional bachelor's degree or similar desirable 
  • At least 2 years of experience as an account manager, supervisory experience preferred
  • Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
  • Ability to work with many different stakeholders both internally and externally
  • Good analytical skills
  • good knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word
  • communicative, detail-oriented, flexible
  • Energy, enthusiasm and a "can-do" attitude
  • Team player with high loyalty and integrity
