Description:

Certified Sterile Processing Technician

The Certified Sterile Processing Technician performs decontamination, cleaning, inspection, assembly, sterilization and storage of re-usable surgical instrumentation. Prepares surgical case carts and responds to requests for instrumentation and /or supplies for surgical procedures. Ensures all Quality Assurance documentation is completed pursuant to the standards of sterilization, The Joint Commission, and SARMC requirements.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Maintains CRCST or CSPDT certification.

GOOD TO HAVE:

• One (1) year experience as a Sterile Processing Tech Prior experience in a hospital setting.
