Description:

Saint Francis Hospital, a member of Trinity Health Mid-Atlantic, is seeking a certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team!

Schedule: Full-time rotating shift (Days/Evenings)

:

The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for assisting the Pharmacist in aseptically preparing medications and I.V. therapies, and distributing medications to the patient care areas, performing nursing and pharmacy unit inspections, maintaining stock levels in all areas of the hospital or clinics.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provides accurate medication preparation for patients including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatric population.
  • Demonstrates accurate medication bin filling.
  • Albe to become proficient in mathematical calculations when preparing I.V. admixtures.
  • Performs all stocking functions.
  • Deliver medications to appropriate patient's room as ordered.
  • Process discharges, transfers, admissions, and credits medication appropriately to the patient.
  • Performs monthly nursing station inspections according to department policy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • DE Board of Pharmacy approved certification (CPhT through the PTCB -or- NHA) is required
  • Strong mathematical skills and basic computer skills
  • Experience in hospital pharmacy practice highly preferred
