Job Description

Responsible for the analysis of product, process, equipment and method issues at designated stages of product development and manufacturing. Requires experience with NNSA NAP401.1A or similar, high-level QA Program and experience in a testing environment. Lead and support action to prevent and reduce all costs associated with poor quality. Work to maximize product conformance to specified requirements while ensuring best possible manufacturability. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.

Tasks to be Performed: 

  • Approves and or ensures implementation of approved methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Plans and conducts analysis and/or inspection to assure the quality of the assigned test, product or component.
  • Uses forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Performs quality engineering reviews of documentation for compliance with stated requirements, including customer scopes of work (SOWs), test procedures and objectives, vendor quality manuals and company quality records.
  • Makes the decision to accept the product and provides guidance/input on future purchases from the vendor and may perform receipt inspection of purchased products or components as a back-up and.
  • Documents data obtained during all quality activities is consistent with company policies and procedures.
  • Develops new approaches to solve problems identified during quality activities.
  • Communicates significant issues or developments identified during quality activities and provides recommended process improvements to management.
  • Prepares reports to communicate involvement and results of quality activities.
  • Prepares and presents technical and program information to team members and management.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of government and industry quality codes and standards.
  • Performs/assists with RC/CAs.

Education and/or Experience 

Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in a related field and a minimum of 5 years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
