Job Description
Job Summary and Details:
The Linux System Admin will work with a team in the design, implementation, and operation/maintenance of Teledyne’s server infrastructure. This includes the following technologies: Linux, VMWare, as well as a host of other associated software and hardware vendors. The position will have direct report to the manager of the Teledyne Server Team. The position will not have direct management responsibilities; however, they may act in a lead role for certain enterprise-wide technologies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Note: The person in this position must have a deep understanding of all components of the server infrastructure with the ability and willingness to learn new technologies as they emerge in the environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This job has no supervisory responsibilities but will provide technical leadership to lower-level technicians including carrying out lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to training employees, planning, assigning, directing work and resolving technically related work problems. It also includes interaction with other technical teams (e.g. network team, client team, applications team, support team, etc.)
