Marsh Insurance Brokers (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking suitably qualified and experienced candidates to establish and build a key function for the Malaysia operations in a new role based in the firm's Kuala Lumpur office.

PLACEMENT LEADER, MALAYSIA

What can you expect?

This role will develop and implement a Placement Strategy, for the overall Malaysian operations. This requires developing Placement as a dedicated function, and focusing the function on yield, portfolio review / segmentation, Carrier management, achieving operating efficiencies, and product development and review (including portfolio solutions such as facilities). This strategy will be developed in conjunction with the regional Placement guidelines as well as with the Country Senior Leadership Team to confirm a placement structure is in place along with relevant Placement professionals within the team. The strategy will cover all lines of business, segments and industry including interaction with country and regional specialties. The Placement Leader will be responsible for developing and communicating yield initiatives, monitoring yield results, production of yield reports and premium volume changes. They will also be responsible for governance of facilities. Working with the appropriate staff, they will assist in the creation and maintenance of facilities and portfolio solutions, across all lines of business including Employee Health & Benefits. Responsibilities also include managing and driving relationships with our Carriers including regular engagement with Marsh’s Carrier Partners. Key accountabilities also include Placement Data Capture to ensure that this information is captured in a timely and accurate manner and then reviewed to provide relevant and impactful input in the design of analytics dashboards and client benchmarking outputs. They may also take ownership (as the Executive Sponsor) of key projects for IT initiatives.

We will count on you to:

• Create and implement a Placement Strategy. Lead, support and participate in the overall business planning process for the country ensuring Placement supports the region / countries business objectives
• Set yield targets and develop country yield strategy including transactional (commission) remuneration and non-transactional (Fee and Contingent) remuneration (as appropriate).
• Implement uniformity in the placement process in accordance with local business customs/regulations and in accordance with Marsh management. Develop the Placement Operating Model including establishing Placement Leadership, defined responsibilities (both Broking and Placement Administration) and alignment between Segments, Industries and Specialties.
• Using placement data, market knowledge and benchmarking information, identify gaps in the market, and trends and opportunities, and build solution oriented product offerings to support Sales and Retention
• Talent Management & Development – this role will lead a small team of brokers and placement professionals.

What you need to have:

• Minimum 10-15 years of relevant working experience in Insurance Broking and, ideally, Placement across all lines of business and segments
• Strong knowledge of existing Carriers and offering within Malaysia
• Strong knowledge of existing regulatory and Marsh compliance requirements within Malaysia
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to lead a team and motivate others to achieve joint goals
