Job Description:
Huntsman Vietnam is now looking for a dynamic individual as a EHS Specialist. The ideal candidate will be located in Dong Nai, Vietnam.
As the EHS Specialist of EHS Organization, you will:
1) Develop, implement and maintain site EHS procedures to comply with Huntsman EHS Standards, Procedures, and regulatory requirements;
2) Work closely with the landlord and engineering consultant company to provide day-to-day supervision and management of all EHS aspects during construction phase of the project to ensure conformance with Huntsman relevant EHS standards and local regulatory requirements;
3) Work closely with functional teams on the implementation of EHS procedures, annual improvement plans and related programs to compliance. Report to line manager and related functions for issues, provide services and propose improvement actions required;
4) As one of the EHS representatives under North ASEAN, communicate and network with sub-regional EHS resources to support EHS implementation and roll-out of various EHS programs;
5) Identify EHS training needs for all associates and contractors, and maintain the training programs to meet business requirements;
6) Manage site EHS program including but not limited to Hazard Communication, Work Permit System, Emergency Response, Behavioural Safety, Incident Investigation, Contractor Management, Process Safety and Site Security, to prevent human injury and loss of property;
7) Manage site occupational health and industrial hygiene programme to recognise, evaluate and provide supports of risk assessment and control in workplaces to acceptable levels, including advices and assistances to associates and management to improve performance;
8) Manage planed and unplanned EHS Audit Program to ensure conformance with Huntsman EHS requirements;
9) Maintain EHS regulatory compliance programme, keep EHS regulatory information updated and provide to functional owners towards compliance;
10) Collect and prepare EHS data for reporting and submission to Region, Corporate and local authorities; also perform data analysis as appropriate;
11) Assist Operations Manager in monitoring pre-defined EHS activities (e.g. Environment, Process Safety Management, Product Stewardship, Distribution Safety) both internally and externally.
Special Features
Skills and experiences required:
1) Bachelor degree or above, preferably with major in Occupation Health and Safety, Environment, Engineering or a suitable Science;
2) At least 5 years’ experience working in a manufacturing facility in Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) functions, preferably in chemical plant;
3) Proven EHS experience in supervising construction work of a chemical plant is strongly desirable;
4) Good understanding of local laws and regulations in EHS areas, also regulatory process and agencies that formulate and enforce them;
5) Good documentation capability, plus organizing and coordinating skills;
6) Good skill in Microsoft applications of Words, Excel and PowerPoint;
7) Fluent in Vietnam and good English command both in writing and speaking
8) Good interpersonal, communicative skills to work with plant personnel from senior to junior level, as well as to external authorities;
9) Good team player.
10) Training and certificate required: Possess EHS relevant qualification or regulatory certificate as required by local authorities
