COLLEGE WORK STUDY- LIVE WELL PEER COACH
DALEY COLLEGE
City Colleges of Chicago (CCC), the largest community college system in Illinois, is made up of seven colleges and five satellite sites, providing more than 70,000 students each year access to a quality, affordable education.
The Federal Work Study Program (FWS) is a federally-funded financial aid program that provides subsidized part-time employment for eligible students in order to assist them with postsecondary financial needs. City Colleges of Chicago (CCC) complies with the Department of Education’s regulations regarding the FWS program and allows students to benefit from this opportunity.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVE
The FWS program encourages students to gain experience in their prospective fields by placing them in areas and departments aligned with their area of study whenever possible. Students are able to use their wages towards educational and living expenses. FWS jobs are available in areas such as academic departments, laboratories, libraries, administrative offices, student centers and several off-campus locations.
The mission of the Peer Leader Mentoring Program is to create and connect students to an affirming, validating, and culturally responsive campus environment that will assist with their academic, social, and cultural transition to Daley College.

The goals of the Live Well Peer Coach are:
The Live Well Peer Coach Program empowers students to create positive change in their environments, is student-led, and thrives within The Wellness Center at Daley College. In addition, the Live Well Peer Coaching Program provides potential student leaders with opportunities to refine and build upon their leadership skills, gain new knowledge, develop new attitudes, and gain experiential practice in their role as leaders.
Live Well Peer Coaches are undergraduate students who possess leadership qualities and are student advocates. Live Well Peer Coaches are selected due to their exceptional display of leadership abilities and positive impact both on Daley’s campus and off-campus. Live Well Peer Coaches provide student support during the academic year.

JOB DUTIES:
Live Well Peer Coaches will meet with students in designated or assigned spaces on campus. The Wellness Center is located in room 2316-B.
Live Well Peer Coaches will assist with the facilitation and promotion of health-related program information on priority college health topics that significantly impact student wellness and success (sexual health consent, education on harm reduction methods, and more, alcohol and other drugs, healthy interpersonal relationships, stress, sleep, eating well, gender-based violence prevention, etc.).
Live Well Peer Coaches will assist with the development of health-related program information for the student body, including, but not limited to: (1) researching college health and wellness topics, and (2) developing interactive programming related to mental health and/or gender-based violence.
Live Well Peer Coaches will assist with the delivery of health-related program information for the student body, including, but not limited to: (1) composing social media posts for The Wellness Center services and Project SAFE services, (2) advertising Wellness and Project SAFE related services, events and campaigns, (3) setting up tables and displaying information about The Wellness Center and Project SAFE, and (4) implementing mental health and gender-based violence activities/programs for Daley College students and/or CCC students across the district.
Live Well Peer Coaches will increase student awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle by acting as a role model for healthy living. Live Well Peer Coaches will encourage students to integrate health related information into their personal lives. Live Well Peer Coaches will work with Project S.A.F.E. campus coordinator/s to initiate outreach to faculty and peers, for the purpose of educating peers on gender-based violence and bystander intervention via classroom presentations.
Live Well Peer Coaches will help Daley College students become knowledgeable about campus and community resources, continue to develop bystander intervention curriculum in tandem with Project SAFE Leadership, support Wellness and Project SAFE Programming around campus/across the district and create involvement opportunities for peers on and off-campus (virtually).
Live Well Peer Coaches will ensure that program information is culturally sensitive and inclusive. Acknowledges and appreciates differences that race, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity and age bring to our campus and our society.
Live Well Peer Coaches will devotedly adhere to the confidentiality policies of The Wellness Center.
Live Well Peer Coaches will attend professional development and training opportunities.
Live Well Peer Coaches will complete other duties as assigned.
