Promote & grow our Rotating Machines Services offer, predominantly in the United Kingdom to our existing installed base of machines, by focussing on workshop services, field services & testing, inspections, and machine replacement. These are large machines, typically over 1MW. As well as providing key account management on larger projects, this role will require approaching new customers to develop our strategy, manage key opportunities to order closure and grow the pipeline.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities :

Key Account Management as follows

  • Account overview with key contacts and decision makers
  • Understand the account strategy wrt short, medium, longer term goals
  • Correlate account strategy with a GE plan to grow the opportunity pipeline, creating strategic initiatives to grow the business
  • Understand our competitive situation
  • Describe our short and medium-term action plans to deliver orders as early as possible
  • Value propositions & Pipeline…
  • Using the services portfolio, help to develop job specific differentiators to create competitive offerings
  • Increase the pipeline of short & medium-term enquiries by identifying and ‘creating’ new opportunities with the customer.
  • Identify longer term opportunity for the business using the current portfolio but also by identifying ‘new products’ we may wish to develop through designated new product introductions
  • Negotiation & order closure…
  • For key opportunities develop our negotiation position
  • Work with technical, commercial, legal & senior leadership, where appropriate, to build the winning team
  • Pro-actively negotiate with the customer to order close-out
  • Markets & Geography…
  • Cover a variety of solution and market areas for our service offer
  • Provide sales support for solutions and services delivered out of the UK
  • Activity will be largely focused in the UK & Ireland however there may be opportunity for some overseas travel

Other key tasks

  • Work closely and pro-actively with applications and commercial operations during tender development
  • Continue to liaise with project management throughout the course of the project
  • Sell to win business in accordance with the unit financial kpi’s (orders, cash, margin, convertibility)
  • Thorough & pro-active approach to updating all opportunities as entered in the company CRM system

Qualifications/Requirements :

  • Degree level in engineering or appropriate apprentice background
  • Rotating Machine Services background would be a benefit
  • Previous experience of a sales role.
