The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Strategic Talent Planning , as the Director, Global Early Careers, you will be responsible for the global management of all Early Career Programs, including University Relations, University/Campus Recruiting, and Early Career Development programs. You will be responsible for understanding Early Talent needs, generational trends, and CSL’s overall talent and DEI strategy. This understanding will drive the design of appropriate development opportunities for participants. The role will require strong collaboration with Learning & Development, Sr. HRBP’s, Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, and Strategic Workforce Planning (SWP). This is a hybrid role, which requires some onsite work. #LI-hybrid

The Role:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to create the Early Career program and engagement strategy, identifying those partnerships that will help CSL optimize program resources, while meeting CSL’s Early Career program objectives
  • Influence and align stakeholders and leadership to adhere to Early Career Program philosophies and strategy.
  • Partner with SWP, L&D and Succession Management to create learning pathways and programs to equip EC talent with the critical & soft skills they need to be successful at CSL, regardless of the career path they chose. Create a framework for developing, maintaining, and communicating career paths and opportunities across the CSL Enterprise to EC Talent.
  • Provide a framework of resources for EC talent, including coaching and feedback on current skills, strengths, development need for their current role, as well as building future leadership capabilities. EC Managers and Specialists on strong goal setting, expectation setting, conducting performance reviews, and on-going performance feedback to participants.
  • Lead projects aligned to the HR, Talent or EC portfolio. Bringing an expert view on projects and participating in design and delivery of projects and content. Oversee projects to ensure on time delivery and alignment with priorities.
  • Continually evaluate EC process & program effectiveness using data and analytics to evaluate our programs and use this insight to make improvements and refine strategies.
  • Utilize targeted direct sourcing strategies, screening methods and selection tools to ensure we attract high quality and diverse applicants/hires. Sourcing strategies should target critical skills and skills gaps informed by SWP and aligned to business priorities.
  • Collaborate with other teams and functions to integrate early-careers programs into the organisation's overall talent management strategy.
  • Partner with the internal Communications team, external partners, and the Talent Marketing Plan owner to develop and execute outreach/marketing strategies and campaign content. To include development of marketing materials and social media content to market our programs globally.
  • Budget - provide financial estimates related to Development Programs into profit plan cycle; update and maintain an accurate forecast
  • Drive the overall headcount planning for CSL to hit the hiring demands for Early Career talent
  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Your Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Master’s Degree preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of L&D, TA and/or HR background, preferably with a focus on developing early talent.
  • Strong understanding of the employee lifecycle.
  • Demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and evaluating large transformational global programs
  • Understanding of how to develop emerging talent into future leaders
  • Understanding of how leaders develop
  • Experience with change management processes and projects
  • Ability to create processes, review metrics and measure on-going review of processes for continuous improvement
  • Data driven, with experience in strategic planning, diagnosing pipeline health and funnel conversion rates Experience developing cross-functional partnerships and influencing stakeholders across the organization to act without having a direct reporting relationship
  • Prior experience with geographically dispersed teams required
  • Advanced level experience with MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Pharma, biotech or medical device exposure preferred
  • Immaculate attention to detail and a keen eye towards visual presentation of work product; excellent presentation skills
  • Decisive and action oriented – fast strategic thinker with a positive “can-do” attitude
  • Sense of accountability and sound professional judgment; highly organized and self-aware
  • Problem solver and active learner; ability to troubleshoot issues independently or escalate when necessary; strong leadership presence and customer acumen
  • Ability to lead and independently manage key relationships with multiple internal and external stakeholders to drive results
