Summary

Lead cross-functional teams through the entire product development cycle of state-of-the-art networking, wireless, and sensor-based solutions for commercial aircraft. Define new product requirements, perform technology trade studies, and integrate end-item hardware and software in preparation for production. Work closely with all engineering functional groups, the factory, and customer support.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Perform Technical Lead duties for small and medium sized product developments.
  • Lead engineering trade studies and design reviews.
  • Develop Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) architecture models.
  • Design and verify system modules based on system operational requirements.
  • Prepare System Engineering, Integration, and Test Plans.
  • Review, define, and refine product requirements as System Requirement Specifications (SRS) and Interface Control Definitions (ICD).
  • Generate Requirements Traceability, Compliance, and Verification Matrices as required.
  • Perform integration and troubleshooting of prototype HW and SW.
  • Create and execute system test procedures to verify hardware and software functionality.
  • Prepare and support design and implementation of automated test procedures.
  • Support transition of hardware and software products from development to production, and support entry into service and OEM/customer field issues.
  • Support the Program Office in generating product development schedule and cost.

  • Engineering Analysis – Knowledge of engineering analysis (e.g., mechanical, electrical, avionics, design, circuit, systems, stress, structural, durability).

  • Test Program Design – Knowledge of test program design (e.g., design of test equipment, test automation strategies, design of experiments, test plan development, etc.).
  • Analytical Skills – Skill and ability to: collect, organize, synthesize, and analyze data, summarize findings; develop conclusions and recommendations from appropriate data sources.
  • Collaboration – Work effectively and cooperatively with others; establish and maintain good working relationships.
  • Communication – Clearly convey information and ideas through a variety of media to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message.
  • Customer Focus – Make customers and their needs a primary focus on one’s actions; develops and sustains productive customer relationships.

  • Dependable – Handles projects independently on a regular basis. Ability to work without close supervision and produce quality work.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline. At least seven (7) years of minimum experience in Systems Engineering or related field in the Avionics, Aircraft, and/or Aerospace Defense Industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Salary Range:

$71,940.00 - $120,230.00
