The Department of Neurology at Columbia University is seeking a full-time tenure-track neuromuscular clinician-investigator at the instructor or assistant/associate/full professor level for the Neuromuscular Medicine program. The position will expand translational neuromuscular and mitochondrial disease research, clinical work, and educational activities in the H. Houston Merritt Neuromuscular Research Center and Neuromuscular Medicine division. The candidate must have translational mitochondrial disease research experience and publications as well as training and/or experience with evaluation of patients with neuromuscular disorders including mitochondrial diseases. The position primarily includes translational research preferably including molecular genetics, biochemistry, cell culture, and animal models of mitochondrial disease. Depending upon external support, a minority of the position involves outpatient consultations, as well as inpatient consultations and teaching fellows and residents as well as opportunities to participate in clinical trials. Extramural funding for research is desirable but not necessary.

  • M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.
  • Must be able to complete the New York Presbyterian Hospital credentialing requirements before starting.
  • NYS License

Hiring Salary range:190,000-200,000
