Teledyne LeCroy - Test Services (TLTS) offers “best in class” data acquisition systems, sensors, and software for torque and force measurement. Our transducers are found in highly diverse applications such as on the Space Shuttle robotic arm, deep-sea oil-drilling risers, natural-gas storage tanks, automobile test vehicles and nuclear power plant valves. TLTS valve-testing products are recognized as the technological standard for monitoring torque and thrust in critical safety-related systems within nuclear power plants. We also offer specialized data acquisition and data logging equipment to interface with these sensors.

Position Summary

Teledyne LeCroy – Test Services is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to develop programs for nuclear valve testing, sensor calibration, and sensor inspection. The candidate will be tasked with developing software applications from the ground up. This individual should have a strong working knowledge of programming languages such as Visual Basic 6, C#/.NET, C and C++. The candidate must also have experience developing software applications that interface with external hardware, laboratory equipment, and 3rd party libraries & controls. 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Software, Electrical, Mechanical) and 5-10 years of directly related experience. This can be waived if the candidate demonstrates superior knowledge in the required fields.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop software applications from the ground up: establish program workflow, write code, debug/test, and generate program installers for the end-user.
  • Write software-related documents such as requirements specifications, test reports, and user manuals.
  • Continually improve existing software applications based on feedback from customers and peers.
  • Troubleshoot software issues reported by technicians, engineers, and customers. 
  • Document software errors, non-conformances, and customer service bulletins.
  • Occasional travel and seasonal field work in support of valve testing services at nuclear power plants.
  • Daily Availability includes evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

Job Knowledge & Skills

  • Experience developing software applications in Microsoft VB6 and C#/.NET.
  • Experience developing programs that interface with external hardware for data acquisition and electro-mechanical control.
  • Experience developing programs that interface with laboratory equipment such as calibration standards, function generators, and DMMs.
  • Skills in developing applications that use 3rd party libraries & controls including graphing tools, data processing, and report utilities.
  • Application deployment using InstallShield as well as server and cloud-based deployment (Citrix, SQL, AWS).
  • Knowledge of basic data and signal processing concepts such as least-squares analysis, filtering, and FFTs.
  • Experience with software development and / or software quality assurance programs for commercial nuclear power plant software products, including verification and validation of software products.
  • Experience working in the nuclear power industry. Experience with motor and / or air operated valve testing and engineering is a plus.
  • Familiar with laboratory equipment including calibration standards, DMMs and function generators.
  • Familiar with basic electrical and electronic concepts. Ability to read and understand basic schematics.
  • Self-directed with strong communication skills (written and verbal).
