JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Pennsylvania State University's Department of Electrical Engineering, in conjunction with the Computational Electromagnetics and Antennas Research Lab (CEARL), is seeking a highly qualified individual for a Researcher or Assistant Research Professor position. The appointment is a term, non-tenure line research faculty position. The PSU-CEARL group is internationally recognized for its pioneering contributions in electromagnetics, particularly in the areas of antenna engineering, computational electromagnetics, optics, and metamaterials.
Job Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in funded projects that will seek to develop advanced and transformative technologies in electromagnetics. The primary responsibilities of the position will be assisting and/or leading the mechanical development of cutting-edge research programs, including antenna/metamaterial/metasurface design and simulation, as well as preparing reports for relevant sponsored contracts. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to prepare and present research results at domestic and international conferences, and will be expected to publish findings in conference proceedings and technical journal articles as required. The successful candidate will also be expected to support the writing of proposals, assist in seeking external funding opportunities, and assist in the basic research and design responsibilities for current and future high-profile research projects in the CEARL group.

Requirements:
The Researcher should possess a Master's Degree or its equivalent, or be an active candidate for a terminal degree, in Engineering. The Assistant Research Professor should possess a terminal degree or its equivalent in Engineering. Alternatively, the Assistant Research Professor without a terminal degree should possess at least a Master's Degree or its equivalent in Engineering, must have demonstrated ability as a researcher, and must have shown evidence of professional growth and scholarship in their discipline. The successful candidate must also have United States Citizenship and Solidworks working knowledge, as well as proficiency in the creation and critical review of engineering drawings, tolerancing, and tolerance analysis.
